Mute your strings and bend down in front of your amp to do that sound."When I can".WOOOOOMPT."I will".WOOOooOmpT ~ freakin way killer trick! ![]() Now.the "howl" in Mayonaisse! THAT's another story. Its always sounded like an intentional clipping to me. Darcy and James were simply window dressing for the band. He did all those tracks and like, 90% of the bass on that album. I also remember reading about it from a Corgan interview. I do know that Siamese Dream was called "Macintosh Music" at the time of its release due to how much computer based tracking was done for the record. This sounds more of a production technique likely done with the waveform itself. Ive heard fuzz boxes that should'a been called fizz-boxes because when the clip gain was raised all the way, you get that very same "oh shit, somethin's fryin'!" clip thats simply nasty. ![]() Could be forced clipping, or, its the tail of one of the many layers of guitar tracks. Ive always wondered what that is too but its hard to say. I knew what you were getting at before I heard the clip. ![]()
